The Jobs Report for October 2014 showed more of the same as previous reports. There were a net 214,000 jobs created in October and the unemployment rate ticked down to 5.8 percent. In addition, August and September numbers were revised upward, making October the ninth straight month of job creation of 200,000+. The important but obscure employment-to-population ratio (the percentage of people aged 16+ with jobs) jumped to 59.2 percent, a full percentage point higher year-over-year.
