Call it the “flex economy.” Call it non-traditional or non-employee talent. Call it the contingent workforce. Whatever the phrasing, this much is true: contingent labor is now a veritable strategic force across the globe, with over 90% of enterprises placing a critical reliance on these workers and services to support their greater business goals and objectives.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its November jobs report Friday, showing a surge in U.S. hiring, with a total of 321,000 jobs created last month. Combined with an additional 52,000 jobs for September and October revisions, the three-month average is 278,000 jobs created. The unemployment and labor force participation rates both held steady at 5.8% and 62.8% respectively.
